Dulce lay sitting against a tree just outside her town, her pale cheeks gleaming with tears. No one noticed the small child like girl sitting there, shaking and hiccuping from tears. No one could, for no one could even see the girl. As is known by now Dulce had died not even a day ago, she even saw the cops rush to her home and the started screaming of the neighbor when she found the bodies. Apparently her father had a date planned and didn't even show up, Dulce could figure why. Remembering her father she began a new session of tears, her face burying against her knees as she began to sob.
"Papa!" she cried, regretting what she had told him the night before, saying she hated him.
She wished she could go back and change that, but she can't, she could never change that or what had happened. Being dead she could cry as long as she wanted, and she had been doing just that for the past day. Again no one noticed her.

There was a poke at her head, and she jolted up, head snapping to see who had just touched her. She couldn't even touch people now, so who had just poked her? Looking up she saw who. Standing there was a rather tall man, with a wide black smile and happy closed eyes, she found it odd though he had no nose, and that his skin was even paler than her own. He had on a...rather dark suit, but with spots of bright rainbow colors everywhere, and even a bright red bowtie
"....." she blinked in confusion at the odd looking man
"Aw yes, hello? Can you speak?" He asked, his voice soft and cheerful
Dulce started then, backing up against the tree even more as she began to ramble off quickly in Italian about why this man should not being able to see her and why he poked her. He held his hands up to try and calm her down, instead seeing the large black hands made her panic more.
"Hey hey calm down!" he cried out, reaching down to cup Dulce's head between his large hands
A a scream tried to leave her throat, but instead it simply came out as a pitiful squeak before falling silent
"There we go~" he cooed, rubbing her head as if trying to sooth a child.
It worked slightly, though Dulce remembered her mother use to do the same thing, and her face pulled tight as new tears brimmed at her eyes
"Hey now no more crying!" The man snapped, though his voice kept the cheerful tone, like when adults want to keep kids calm despite the scolding
Dulce stopped then, but her shoulders shook slightly, holding back the tears a new thing to her
"Now no more crying ok? You shouldn't be crying now, that won't help anything." He said, and Dulce gave a tiny nod in reply.
She couldn't agree with him, she was dead, but she was a ghost, she could never see her mom, or her dad again. They were in heaven and she was trapped on Earth
"You aren't trapped on earth, don't think that way."
Dulce jumped and began in Italian again before being cut off
"And please speak English, I can't understand you dear."
She paused. Speak English? Sure she knew how to, but he was in Italy, shouldn't he be able to speak Italian
"....." She paused, before beginning to speak softly "I....I am trapped" she said at first, before expanding on it "I am trapped, I'm a ghost, I can't see my parents ever again, I'm trapped and I'll never go to heaven or pass on or-" He stopped her with placing his hand to her mouth, seeing she was about to break off into tears again
"Calm down now, they are in a better place, and you know that." He started "As well you won't have to worry about being alone" he finished with a smile, and stood.
Dulce couldn't help but stare at him now, he was at least 7 feet tall, if now taller, and towered over her like the tree
"I'm the Splendor man, but you can call me Splendor, or even Splendy if you want." He smiled down at her, and offered her his large hand. Hesitating she reached up and took it. Instantly he lifted her up quickly, causing her to squeak as he pulled her over his head and plopped her onto his back as she stared with wide eyes. She knew she was a light weight, but still, he lifted her with such ease.
"You ok back there dear......?" he trailed off at the end, silently asking her for her name
"D-dulce." she stammered, doubting he could pronounce it
"Dulce! What a cute name for a lovely young girl." He said to her, smiling back at her, though she didn't see his mouth change at all. Was the smile stuck on his face? Is he wearing a mask like The Joker? Dulce wondered, with that thought she couldn't help but give a soft giggle. He was like a large clown, she thought. Hearing her giggle Splendor smiled and patted her head, and began walking off
"Don't worry little Dulce, you'll learn to be tougher, in time you'll gain powers like mine, even your own!" He chimed happily, smiling at her yet again "You'll be able to eat, and drink, and continue as you were........though....you won't age physically.....or be able to have children or such.....ghosts can't really do those things...but you'll be able to be a little normal! And I bet you'll be happy to be able to eat chocolate and sweets again, I bet you like cake too hm? Would you like some cake when you can eat?" And he continued to talk to her as he walked. Dulce didn't know where he was taking her, but having someone who could see her made her happy. And so she closed her eyes, and calmed down for the first time since she died.

Dulce lay on the fountains edge, staring up at the dark sky that never seemed to change. A pleased and content smile was on her face as she remembered a good thing. her eyes half closed as she spoke to no one. Not anyone others could see at least
"You were right" she started "I did get powers, and I can touch things now and live normally, I even found other friends, and a partner." she listed off other things, a soft pink tint to her cheeks as she did so. She continued till she had listed all that had happened since she arrived at the town, stopping then to close her eyes and let out a sigh. Then she heard someone call her name, and looked up to see Denis coming towards her, she gave a joyful smile in return and rolled off the fountain to rush towards him, taking his hand and smiling up to him
"Everything is all right" she thought "You were right Splendy
